WEEK 10

March 18th, 2022

Initial Prototypes

In creating the Week 10 Prototypes, we each took our own approach of our team concept. Some of us integrated the collapsing mechanism by imagining that middle pieces were using wood, while others constructed the idea of using fabric to collapse the camera together. Ideas discussed included incorporating lights, implementation of hiding the camera with a cover and using a telescopic collapsable method.

Technology Update

As we would like to implement wood into our webcam, we realized that functionality of our prototype only collapsed and expanded due to friction between the cardboard pieces. For our final concept, we are developing our idea to use a rack and pinion mechanic in the interior and a ball hinge on the top to pivot the camera around in different directions.
